Event Management is the primary campus contact point for services related to conferences and special events. Planning assistance is provided to any event sponsor, with the aim of helping to find the best campus site for an event while helping to secure the services needed for the event at the lowest cost and highest quality.

The department is comprised of an experienced and knowledgeable staff
of event and conference coordinators, facility managers, and highly skilled operations and technical staff. The units of Event Management
include Conference Services, Marine Lab at Beaufort, Media Productions, Special Event Services, Technical Services, Theater Operations, and the University Box Office and Information Services.

Over 1500 events are planned and executed each year including:

• Summer camps
  
• Commencement Weekend Activities
  
• Springfest, Oktoberfest, and Homecoming weekend
  
• Duke Children's Classic golf tournament and celebrity show
  
• Athletic events including football games and tailgating parties
  
• Major theater events like "A Thousand Clowns" and the Broadway at Duke series
  
• Major student concerts featuring Edwin McCain and Ben Folds Five
