Housing Options

Many events and programs held at Duke will require overnight accommodations for attendees.  While campus housing may be an excellent option in the summer for some programs, it is not generally available during the school year.  With a mix of air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned dorm rooms located on East and West campus, and sizes ranging from singles to mostly doubles and a few triples, dorm living may not always be the best choice for adult programs.

Duke also offers furnished, air-conditioned apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms in size on Central Campus, but like dorms, these are generally only available during the summer months.

During the academic year, nearby hotels including both the R. David Thomas Center Executive Center and Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club are generally the best option.

Duke Event Management is happy to assist clients with hotel accommodations for events and conferences. Services that we offer include:

  • Negotiation and contract review
  • Room blocking and assignments
  • Transportation to and from the hotel accommodations
  • On-site logistical arrangement such as meeting rooms, audio-visual, catering, and registration
