Duke Campus Services and Event Management recently partnered with the Duke Marine Lab at Beaufort to better support the mission of the Nicholas School of the Environment and to encourage the use of the island for events and conferences. Featuring two renovated dorms and updated dining facility, a new deck overlooking the sound, and a new recreation/conference center, the Marine Lab offers event planners a perfect environment to hold any conference. The island boast sleeping accommodations for 114 guests with meeting spaces of various sizes.

The Marine Lab is within walking distance of Historic Beaufort and a ferry ride away from the Outer Banks. It is a fully-operational marine laboratory facility and features most of the state of the art technology found on any college campus.
